Who We Are

Since 1876, the Riverside Concert Band has served the Riverside community, presenting live music for numerous civic, public and private events. The members come together from all walks of life and areas of the city and country to provide valid musical experiences, not only for the members, but also for the community at large. The Band is comprised of community members who play woodwind, brass or percussion instruments, and performs in the "traditional" concert band style. In recent years, the band has diversified and now presents a swing ensemble in addition to the traditional concert band, which accommodates a variety of additional venues.

What we do
The band’s first incarnation was as Riverside townsmen joined together in 1876 to celebrate the Nation’s Centennial. Since that time the band has been in continuous operation under various names and has performed over 4548 concerts throughout Nevada, Arizona, Hawai'i, Northern and Southern California. The Band has a wide repertoire, ranging from stirring patriotic melodies like “The Stars & Stripes Forever ”, “National Emblem” and “You’re a Grand Old Flag” to seasonal music for such occasions as St. Patrick’s Day, Cinco de Mayo, Memorial (Decoration) Day, the Fourth of July, OctoberFest, Veterans Day and Christmas. The band performs familiar classics such as Bizet’s “Carmen”, nationally recognized festival music and movie soundtracks such as “Frozen” and “Les Miserables”. The band performs in formal, and informal concert settings as well as for community events, civic activities, music and arts festivals and fundraisers.

Expand Your Horizons

These community ensembles provide rehearsal and performance opportunities for musicians ranging from high school students to senior citizens. We invite musicians to “try us out” or just come by and visit a rehearsal. If you are a woodwind, brass or percussion player with three or more years of playing experience and would enjoy performing concerts in the Community Band tradition, this is the band is for you.
